So, here’s the scoop from Samsung System LSI CEO Park Yong-In. He spilled the beans at Semiconductor Expo 2023, confirming that the Galaxy S24 phones are going to have satellite connectivity for emergency situations.

Now, this isn’t exactly brand-new in the world of smartphones. Apple added something similar to their iPhone 14 lineup last year, and it’s still going strong in the iPhone 15 family. Other phones, like Huawei’s P60 series, also hopped on the satellite messaging train.

Samsung is probably going to follow a similar path with this feature. But here’s the cool part – having this on a Galaxy phone will make satellite smartphone services seem more legit. It might even push other phone makers to add it to their fancy high-end phones.

So, in a nutshell, Samsung is planning to drop the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S2+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra early in 2024. They usually do it in mid-February, just before the Mobile World Congress, but there’s a buzz that they might shake things up with a January launch.
